What to Expect
Rest begins the moment you step through the door. :)
You will be given time to arrive, settle in and make yourself comfortable, either sitting or laying down on the mat provided. Take this time to unwind from your journey and make a little nest for yourself, using the blankets, bolsters and faux fur rugs provided. You can also bring your own comforts like extra blankets and a pillow.
I like to make the space as cosy as possible, using faux candles and dimly lit rooms to create a soothing atmosphere. Sometimes I use incense.
Once everyone is settled, I share a few gentle words and a little guided relaxation to help us settle into our bodies and create the conditions for gentle rest.
The session is gentle and unhurried, using crystal singing bowls, chimes and other resonant instruments to create layers of sound. Sometimes I bring the instruments around the room to bring the sounds closer to you.
There is nothing you need to do during the session, and no need to interact with anyone else.
As this is a shared public group session, to protect the comfort and experience of all attendees, if you fall asleep and begin to snore for an extended time, I may gently wake you with a gentle touch on the arm and ask you to adjust or sit up if needed. Do not worry, it’s very natural! :)
When the sound comes to an end, we will rest in silence for a few minutes before I gently share some words to help you slowly return. The session will then close and you can leave when you feel ready.
How will I Feel?
Experiences vary between individuals.
You might drift in and out of restful states, notice your thoughts wondering, and sometimes we fall asleep. It is natural to experience physical sensations like heaviness in the body as you relax, and emotions may surface when we are given the space and time to feel them. This is all a natural part of the experience and it can feel different every time. All responses are valid and no specific outcome should be expected from the session.
Your comfort if the foundation of our time together, and you are free to adjust your body at any time. If any of the sounds feel uncomfortable to you or you need a moment, look after yourself and step out of the space if you need to.
